The Art of Thinking in English

The moment you stop translating and start thinking directly in English is the true turning point in language learning. Most adult learners spend years mentally converting every sentence from Persian to English and back again — a process that's exhausting and, worse, slows down real conversation.

Thinking in English means building a direct connection between an idea and its English expression, skipping the translation step entirely. It starts small: narrating your morning routine in English inside your head, labeling objects around you as you notice them, or replaying a conversation you just had and imagining how you'd say it differently.

The shift doesn't happen overnight, but it accelerates dramatically once you stop reaching for a dictionary mid-sentence and instead let yourself pause, rephrase, and keep going. That tolerance for imperfection is what separates learners who plateau from those who become fluent.
